October 2009
Autumn seemed to be quite slow coming in after the lovely warm September that we had had. Then suddenly the winds and rain were upon us bringing leaves down in their thousands, with the Maple by the pond providing us with the most beautiful red carpet.

I’ve written before about sightings of wild deer in the grounds but had never actually seen them myself. Well, at the beginning of this month that changed. Whilst waiting for some guests who were arriving late, as dusk was starting to fall, around 6pm, I had the most fantastic sighting of two Roe deer just at the entrance to the woodland by the Coach House. This job just gets more and more wonderful.
